Prince William Will Participate in UN Climate Conference in South America

Prince William will represent the United Nations climate conference in South America in the coming weeks, as confirmed by royal officials.

The father and son duo made a joint appearance on Thursday night at a event preceding the climate summit, which is scheduled to take place in the northern Brazilian city of Belém.

Father and son were in attendance at the museum gathering, marking an unusual joint appearance at a climate summit preparatory event arranged together with the British authorities.

Environmental Advocacy Commitment

King Charles has been a longstanding advocate of biodiversity preservation - and the Prince of Wales has assumed the responsibility, with his own climate innovation awards, which will be hosted in Rio preceding the UN meeting.

Royal sources have described William's involvement at the forthcoming conference as stepping up an significant responsibility in "global climate discussions".

Recent Engagements

The monarch and his heir, making a joint entrance in the official car, were welcomed guests including conservation experts, scientists, climate change campaigners, diplomats and politicians.

This involvement included speaking together with French leader Macron of the French Republic and other global statesmen at the Marine Economy Conference in Monaco earlier this year.

Environmental Prize Link

The climate conference will align with the William's personal climate innovation prizes, which will finish in the Brazilian city the eve of he participates in the climate conference on 6 November.

The monarch has been a prominent presence at past COP meetings, delivering the inaugural speech in Dubai for the 28th Conference of Parties, including the observation: "Our responsibility is to protect the world we inhabit".

"For decades I've committed a significant amount of my life trying to alert people to the existential threats challenging our world over climate change, climate change and biodiversity loss," the monarch informed participants.
