Battlefield 6 Gamers Agree: Challenges Are Excessively Difficult

The launch of the eagerly awaited Battlefield 6 received broad praise, especially for its flagship multiplayer mode. Exclusively on Steam, simultaneous player numbers reached a high of nearly 750,000. Yet, regardless of its fanfare, a growing number of players are voicing discontent with some of the game's toughest challenges, which are necessary to unlock specific weapons.

Users have commenced using personalized games made via the custom game tool to achieve these objectives, highlighting just how demanding these missions have become.

Grasping Battlefield 6 Assignments

Tasks represent Battlefield 6's fixed in-game challenges, different from the regularly refreshed everyday and weekly missions. The game includes four classes of assignments, but although many simply offer skins and a few gadgets, finishing the gun missions is the exclusive means of acquiring 12 of the 41 key firearms found within the game.

Several of these gated guns could shortly find their way on rosters of the best guns in Battlefield 6.

Gamer Backlash via Reddit

Within Reddit, players are reasonably expressing their worries about how difficult and grindy several of these challenges are. An individual player highlighted one of the most outrageous examples, needed to obtain the KTS100 MK8 LMG:

  • Suppress 300 enemies with LMGs
  • Cause 10,000 non-ADS damage with LMGs

"This mission is so terrible and completely out of mind, I want to scream in frustration," is a statement that captures just how excessively challenging these tasks are.

The suppression mechanic in Battlefield is weaker than it's ever been in the series, so it has significantly fewer advantages in battle as it used to in previous games. It only registers as suppression if you fail to hit several consecutive shots.

Meanwhile, firing an LMG without aiming is extremely unreliable and is effective only at extremely close range, which isn't typically where you aim to be. That player also noted the contradiction in the SMG challenge, to unlock the SCW-10, which demands eliminations when scoped in, when that challenge would be considerably more fitting to hipfire kills, and vice versa.

Another Ridiculously Tough Challenge

One more community participant highlighted another ridiculously tough challenge, this time in the long-range weapon type to access the PSR:

  • Get 150 headshot kills beyond 200 meters with long-range weapons

This is tough enough by itself, but there's an additional crucial factor to consider: most Battlefield 6 maps do not even allow combat at that kind of range.

There is a decent selection of map sizes, but because there are just nine levels in the game currently, it implies you must stick to playing one of the larger locales, a particular valley environment, and possibly Operation Firestorm at a push if you want to snipe from a significant distance.

The Bypass

Nevertheless, a method exists: Battlefield Portal. The custom game creator is a system that permits you to create personalized matches on whatever map you choose, complete with bots. This means you can exploit the mechanics… but it isn't truly in line with the intended gameplay experience.

But when tackling the tasks in a standard match seems counterproductive, since you must engage in such an unconventional way that doesn't benefit you or your team, who can fault a player for completing them in a private match so allies are not impaired?

Upcoming Tweaks

It should not be shocking if several of these tasks are toned down in the next few updates, because should they remain unchanged, certain gamers simply won't get their hands on the locked firearms.

Currently, the audience continues to share their thoughts on these strenuous battlefield assignments, hoping for a more balanced player experience in future updates.
